Updates from the Polish American Communication Initiative
December 29, 2014
The end of the 113th United States Congress is just around the corner which means that all bills currently under discussion will be removed from consideration. While it is disappointing that Poland does not have Visa Waiver status it isn’t the time to mourn another session of Congress wasted on this issue. This is in fact a great opportunity to express the concerns, ideas, and wishes of Polish American citizens to their representatives and help frame this issue in our own words to influence members of Congress to see that this is an important issue. There are 12 new Senators and 52 new members of the House of Representatives; this gives Polish Americans a great opportunity to press the importance of Visa waiver early on and impress upon these new elected officials the importance of this issue.
In light of these changes PACI will alter the goals of our Visa Waiver campaign as well as our Ukraine Crisis campaign. Since no bills will be up for support, the primary focus will be on informing members of Congress of the importance of these issues and requesting their support for these important issues to the Polish American community. This is the goal of PACI: to contact those members of influence in society and have your voice heard and be an advocate for the Polish American community. The new session of Congress will be an exciting time for all of us and PACI has some new plans lined up to help keep Polish Americans and their concerns on the minds of all members of Congress
